Jeff Harris

President ARCMA

After spending my early life in Texas, I moved to California in early 1990. After most of it spent in Roseville, I moved to Folsom and the American River Canyon in 2010 where I live with my wife Kathy. My two daughters are grown and living on their own. One in Texas and the other in Australia.

After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, I worked a few different jobs in Texas. One was in the oil and steel business, and another as an on-air personality for a radio and television station in a small market. It was fun, the pay was not!

Due mainly to the weather, I followed my parents to California where I began working for Enterprise soon after. At Enterprise I learned the value of sales and customer service, and became even more fiscally conservative than I was. After a 30-year career at Enterprise, I left, and I am now a realtor with Keller Williams.

My goal as a board member is to reach out and encourage participation. I want to make sure past board members are involved. As a manager for many years, I valued information and input. Even though I am fiscally conservative, there is an obligation to make our Canyon look as good and enticing as possible. I want to make smart decisions on how we allocate funds. But I also want to make it where every homeowner who drives up and down the Canyon can feel proud where they live. I call it a pride of ownership.

Vice President/Treasurer ARCMA

I studied business administration in college. During the latter part of my career as a senior administrative assistant in KPMG’s advisory practice and an executive assistant within Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company’s legal department, I was routinely exposed to process improvement work and legal case preparation at the executive level. I’ve also sat on committees and was routinely included in special projects related to creating or strengthening best practices. These companies reinforced within me its culture of a strong work ethic and above all, doing the right thing.

It is with heartfelt gratitude for our Folsom Community, that I put my name forward to join the American River Canyon Maintenance Association. Since moving here in 1997, I have been impressed by the few that work so very hard on all of our behalf. Despite division and sometimes contentious issues; they have tried, in earnest to balance multiple needs and desires. To be a good volunteer is to be truly selfless. My goal is to continue to follow in these footsteps.

I have already served on the Board in 2024 and stepped off after my husband’s health crisis, which necessitated the sale of our 30-year-old dental practice. However, I continue to dedicate myself to our patients by managing all aspects of the front desk during this time of transition. My other experience lies in being a Board member of L’Ermitage in Incline Village, NV, where I served from 2006 until we sold in 2020. I took on many roles, including the President, while also designing and managing their complete walkway upgrade over a five-year period. My philosophy was always to maintain a frugal budget with modest dues increases, while ensuring a growing Reserve Account.

Above all, I would like to encourage a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for all who take an interest in the long-term welfare of our precious Parkway.
