American River Canyon Important Message

Folsom City Code Enforcement has asked that the American River Canyon Community Be Reminded of the following Zoning and  Building Code regarding sheds:


“…. An accessory structure is regulated by our Zoning Code and Building Code. 

Accessory structures under 120 sq ft with no electrical do not require a building

permit. However, they do need to meet setbacks. (5’ from the property line and 8’ from the main structure) Basically, it is very difficult for a shed or accessory structure to be legal in a side yard given the established setbacks.”
